Summer Poetry - Poetry of Life

Photograhy by Christine McClintock Hudspeth c. 2010

Poetry gives us words for the hot breezes that stir the soul,
not just the cold harsh winds of winter's snow.

Poetry is the vibration of strings on the cello of life,
for it comes when the air is full of warm rhythm's light.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Photography by Christine McClintock Hudspeth
She is my other eyes, that see through dark clouds,
My other ears, when the winds howl.
A very best friend, keeping all my secrets.
This little one teaches me how to play again,
and smile through life's sadness and pain.
She shows me everyday that I am her reason for being
Simply by the way she rests against my shoulder,
Or the way she thumps her tail at my smallest smile.
Pouting when I leave without taking her. (She goes a lot!)
When I am wrong... she is delighted to forgive.
If  I seem angry...she clowns to make me smile.
When I am happy, she is joy unbound.
Always goofy, she laughs at me with such amused eyes.
When I succeed, she brags.
Without her, I am just another human.
She is the meaning of royalty and loyalty itself.
She has taught me the secret of devotion,
No words ever need be spoken.
With her I know the meaning of constance and comfort.
She has brought me a world of understanding.
Her soft head on my cheeks heals a broken heart in an instant.
She is an angel divine, sent from God to be mine.
I promise to love and care for her.
I am her Forever Mother...

Playgrounds once bursting with happy sounds.
Overgrown now with sad vines and neglect.
In silence stilled, no young voices abound.
Swings sit alone, no little hands to connect,
A whole generation are simply not to be found.
Birds sing, squirrels rustle through the leaves.
Once happy voices heard upon this sacred ground.
Where have these precious souls gone please?
Some say they stay inside their houses nowadays,
In front of computer screens and T.V.'s with ease.
Sadly playing videos all by themselves,
Alone in games of ninjas and kings,
Now only appearing for them on their screens.
If you know such a child who sits in a house,
take them by the hand quickly to some swings.
Let them breathe fresh air or chase a mouse.
Tell them stories about dragons and queens.
You will find them all in your neighborhood.
Show them a fun world of magic and of dreams.
Help them to grow and enjoy childhood.

120th Continental Congress - N.S.D.A.R.

Welcome to my album of my trip to the 120th Continental Congress of the National Society Daughters of The American Revolution. This collection of photographs has been carefully taken and prepared for you. In this album are many of the fantastic sights you come across while attending a Continental Congress. It is not an exhaustive collection and only features items of interest to me. Please enjoy and feel free to ask questions on any picture you wish to know more about.

I am the sole photographer, and hold all ownership rights to these pictures. I place them in the public domain in a hope that women who feel they might have at least one family member who lent aid or fought in the American Revolution will see this wonderful group of ladies and want to join our society.

If you feel you are a candidate please contact the N.S.D.A.R. at the national level or your state level. There are ladies who can help you with your application. We would love for you to join us.

The NSDAR Library Eagle

Bravely it soars in a special place
Where we go to find our families fates.
Men and women who served our country
Sacrificing all they had for freedoms bounty.
May this sacred place empower you to find,
American stories patriots in kind
Look hard and remember to listen.
They call us here, as they are missing.
Allow your heart flight with this eagle,
Each time you find one of of your people.
Remember to thank them for their service.
They are as excited as you, that you learn this.

I Will Find You - Poetry of The Heart Collection

I walk among the dead so reverently,
for family souls who are mine.
They wait for me here so patiently.
Behind the veil of tears and time.
Find me, they whisper so softly,
as they lay here tenderly.
My heart melts with unspoken signs,
showing me they are here to find.
I love you, I cry out loud.
We know, comes the answer,
for you came in love to find us
Grandaughter,
 which makes us very proud.
